2025 EQUALibrium Awards Gala

A celebration of race and equity champions in the Charlotte region

Get excited for the 2025 EQUALibrium Awards. WFAE will begin taking your nominations for this year’s honorees in early 2025. The gala will be held on June 5, 2025.

WFAE hosted its first EQUALibrium Awards Gala on June 27, 2024, to honor Charlotte area residents who made outstanding contributions and impact in advancing issues of race and equity within our community.

The EQUALibrium Awards Gala highlighted the stories and achievements of these remarkable individuals who devote themselves to fostering inclusivity, dismantling systemic barriers, and promoting equity and equality in our region.

This formal event featured keynote speaker Nick Wharton, president and CEO of Charlotte Area Fund; performances by Grammy-nominated musician David “Dae-Lee” Arrington, El Alma de la Luna Dance Academy, and spoken word artists Shane Manier and Lady V; and an awards ceremony that recognized the honorees, including all nominees.
